Hazlewoods: Helping you score international goals

A significant number of Gloucestershire's Top 100 businesses are actively looking to expand their business operations overseas, particularly in markets outside the Eurozone.

As you might expect from the largest accountancy firm in the county, Hazlewoods has a dedicated International team who have advised many local businesses on their international expansion. As a member of HLB International, Hazlewoods provide business and tax guides for the countries where their clients plan to operate, and introduce them to overseas advisers for advice on local requirements, as well as being able to provide accountancy, audit and tax services all over the world. HLB is one of the top international networks of independent professional accounting firms with representation in over 100 countries and over 500 offices.

The international services provided by Hazlewoods include:

  • Advising on the UK accounting and tax implications of international activities
  • Minimising the cost of repatriating profits
  • Coordinating tax advice across different tax jurisdictions
  • Global audit and assurance services
  • Advising on the appropriate structuring of overseas operations
  • Providing complementary services such as VAT, private client advice, outsourcing, payroll services and accounts preparation

In December 2011 Hazlewoods held a seminar on "Doing Business In China" which was attended by over 50 delegates, many from the Top 100 featured today. This seminar followed a business visit to China by David Williams of Hazlewoods. Chen Wu from the China Britain Business Council and Robin Craddock from Lakes Bathrooms, a Tewkesbury company with a factory in China, talked about how to set up and do business in China.  David examined the appropriate business structures and tax regimes for companies wanting to expand to China.

Hazlewoods International team regularly speak at events hosted by International Banks to promote international trade, the latest being in conjunction with HSBC and Rickerbys which included a live video link to Brazil.

Gloucestershire is bearing up well during this period of economic uncertainty.  The drive to export and the growth of our own manufacturing base in the county will help continue to drive the prosperity of our county.  Hazlewoods are well placed to play a vital and integral part in the growth initiative shown by so many businesses, both large and small.
