Fraud Presentation for the Commonwealth Bank Sustainability of Not for Profits Conference

In September 2011 CBA held its first Sustainability for Not-For-Profits Conference in Sydney, attended by over 100 senior people from NFP's & related organisations. The keynote speaker was Simon McKeon - 2011 Australian of the Year. Other speakers included Darryl Swindells, HLB Mann Judd - Sydney, and Kylea Tink, CEO of the McGrath Foundation. David Tagg and Nicole McCormack of CBA presented on investing in NFP's.

Below is an excerpt from the Fraud Presentation held by Darryl Swindells:

It is unfortunate that a topic such as this has to be spoken about. In a perfect world, we would not have to. Many of you here today are doing an enormous amount to improve our world, and this often involves you dealing with things you don't want to.

I can't imagine that many of you work with organisations that have sufficient money. I know how hard you work to get the money you have. What I have to do in the next half
hour is to give you a much greater chance to keep that which you have, so it is used for the purposes that are intended. Recent headlines about a trade union are unfortunately another example of fraud affecting organisations more than you think.
