Collaboration with EU SME Centre in China

The EU SME Centre is a support service provider for European Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) facilitating market access in China. The Centre provides free of charge, practical information, advice and business tools to better equip SMEs to develop their business and tackle challenges faced in the Chinese market, covering the areas of Business Development, Standards and Conformity, Legal issues, Human Resources and Training.

On 19 October 2011, partners from all HLB Chinese member firms had a very successful meeting with EU SME Centre's Communications Manager Ms. Anne-Laure Maddy, Market Access Advisor Ms. Xin He and Mr. Chris Cheung, in Beijing, China. The meeting was initiated by Coco Liu, Head of Business Channel Development of HLB International. Both parties identified synergies and opportunities and discussed possible future collaborations during the meeting.

HLB member firms in both China and EU countries will endeavour to provide high-quality bespoke financial services to assist EU SMEs to go international through the HLBI "Global China Service" platform.

HLB International is now listed as one of the specialised service providers on the EU SME Centre's website and Knowledge Centre, which can be accessed by members of the EU SME Centre.

Mr. Chris Cheung, the EU SME Centre's Market Access Advisor attended the 2011 HLB International Conference as a special guest, which took place the next day at the Grand Hyatt Beijing.
