HLB INTERNATIONAL EXPANDS ITS UK FEDERATION

HLB International, the international accountancy network, has signed a fourth member firm to its new UK federation. Joining the network, is Lovewell Blake LLP Chartered Accountants one of the leading independent firms of accountants in East Anglia.

James Frost, chief operating officer at HLBI, comments: "We are delighted to have Lovewell Blake join our network. They are a long-standing and reputable firm with a strong international focus and service offering, which is what we are looking for in our member firms. They provide excellent coverage for us in East Anglia and are focused on being an active member both internationally and in the UK federation. We very much look forward to their contribution."

Lovewell Blake, which celebrated its 150th anniversary in 2008, has five offices serving Norfolk and Suffolk.

"Lovewell Blake is a long established practice with a full range of service and sector specialisms, including, oil and gas industry, which have been of particular interest from an international perspective. A strong reason for joining HLB International is to open up opportunities, and to expand and share our knowledge on the international stage" says Douglas Young, managing partner at Lovewell Blake.

He adds: "We have already used the HLB network for outward referral work and are looking to continue to develop our relationships within the network for the benefit of our existing and prospective clients. We have had international connections through associations and alliances since 1988 and consider these to be essential to our clients.

Alongside the international aspects of our new membership, we are keen to join a strong network of UK firms with active sharing of knowledge through working parties and specialist groups. This is seen as one of the key benefits of linking up with like-minded firms within HLB UK. Firms that can contribute as much as they give are critical to the success of the structure being created."

James Frost comments on the ongoing development of the UK federation: "We now have four excellent UK firms, providing strong geographical coverage across the country. All firms are very focused on creating something meaningful and beneficial for themselves and the other members, and these efforts will pay dividends as the UK federation continues to grow. We are really delighted with how things have progressed to date and look forward to working with all firms."

Lovewell Blake's addition to HLB International's new UK federation follows the recent appointments of Menzies LLP, Hazlewoods LLP and Hawsons LLP.

Background to Lovewell Blake LLP

Lovewell Blake LLP

Lovewell Blake has provided a service to the community of East Anglia for 150 years, and is reputed to be the oldest established accountancy firm retaining its original name. The practice was started in chambers at Hall Quay, Great Yarmouth, in 1858 by Mr Lovewell Blake who later became a founder member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants when it was incorporated by Royal Charter in 1880. Since then the firm has grown to its present five offices throughout Norfolk and Suffolk with three market day offices in Aylsham, North Walsham and Diss. This progress has been achieved by providing a service where no client is considered too small for personal interest and attention, and where larger clients can access a wide range of expertise.

During the last ten years the firm has developed teams of dedicated specialists serving the needs of 12 business and professional sectors. They provide the highest level of advice underpinned by cost effective and efficient accounts preparation and one of the region's largest tax teams.
