HLB member firms are well established independent firms of high local standing, who have developed their practices on the basis of their strong local knowledge and contacts. In consequence, our international identity, reflects, intentionally, a combination of the HLB and local names. This identity, applied consistently throughout the world, distinguishes us from the Big 4 accounting networks.
It emphasises the strength of both the international network and the local firm. This is illustrated by the way international business is conducted. The "lead" firm co-ordinates the professional services provided to the client internationally, maintaining contact with HLB member firms around the world. As a result, clients receive a close level of personal service, supplied at both local and international levels.
Formed in 1969, HLB International is a world-wide network of independent professional accounting firms and business advisers. The network comprises member firms in over 100 countries who, collectively, have 1,750 partners plus 14,000 staff in 480 offices. Member firms provide clients with a comprehensive and personal service relating to auditing, taxation, accounting and business and financial management advice.
HLB member firms have extensive experience with all sizes of clients and types of assignments, ranging from large publicly listed and public sector clients through to owner-managed, director controlled companies.
Member firms are well established practices of high local standing, often ranking in the top 12 in their locality, such that high quality personal services can be provided in the principal business centres world-wide. This covers not only audit and tax compliance but a wide range of taxation and financial advisory services at both national and international levels.
The regular involvement of HLB member firms in multi-national assignments, working with colleagues around the world, means that they are well aware of the needs of clients with international operations and can respond accordingly.
